Fiordland Adventure September 2021
Our group of 9 enjoyed a 10 day excursion to deep in the Fiordland Sounds where we spent our time aboard the Tutoko 2. When the weather was favourable we ventured to the Tasman Ocean. There were amazing photo opportunities along with close wildlife observations and opportunities to visit remote predator free Islands including Anchor Island. There were new “Lifer” birds for many. We were hoping to observe Spring bird migrations at sea not sure what we would find. White-headed Petrels,Mottled Petrels and soft plumaged petrels were seen but a highlight was a Snowy Albatross. Photographed above is a Buller’s Albatross, The rainbow entrance to Doubtful Sound and the sister ship to the Tutoko 2
